House Rules & Rental Policies
We want your stay to be comfortable, relaxing, and memorable. These straightforward policies help us care for the cabin, respect our mountain community, and provide a consistent experience for every guest.
The Essentials
The primary guest agrees to these policies on behalf of everyone included in the reservation.
Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: after 4:00 PM.
Check-out: by 10:00 AM.
Early arrival or late departure is available only when approved in advance.
Primary Guest & Occupancy
The primary guest must be at least 25 years old, must occupy the cabin during the stay, and is responsible for the reservation. Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Maximum occupancy is four guests.
Children
Children are welcome. Infants, toddlers, and children must be appropriately supervised at all times, particularly around stairs, the porch, fireplace, fire pit, and outdoor areas.
Strict No-Pets Policy
Pets and visiting pets are not permitted. This policy helps us maintain an allergy-conscious cabin.
No Parties or Events
Parties, events, and unregistered gatherings are not permitted. The Cozy Nook is intended for the quiet enjoyment of registered guests.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be considerate of neighbors and the peaceful mountain community surrounding the cabin.
No Smoking
Smoking and vaping are not permitted at The Cozy Nook.
Commercial Photography
Commercial photography, filming, or other commercial use of the property is not permitted without prior written permission from the hosts. Personal vacation photos and videos are welcome.
Indoor Fireplace
The fireplace is operated using the provided timer. Do not open the screen, move or rearrange the logs, place items in the fireplace, or use the fireplace for cooking or roasting food.
Safety Equipment
The cabin is equipped with smoke and carbon-monoxide detectors, a fire extinguisher, first-aid supplies, and secure exterior doors. Safety equipment must not be disabled, covered, removed, or tampered with.
Damage Responsibility
The primary guest is responsible for damage to The Cozy Nook, its furnishings, fixtures, appliances, or property caused by the guest or members of their party during the stay, beyond normal wear and tear.
We understand that accidents can happen. Please report accidental damage promptly so we can address it quickly. When applicable, the guest agrees to reimburse the reasonable cost of repair or replacement.
Plans Change. Here Is What to Expect.
Cancellation eligibility is based on the scheduled check-in date and the cabin's local time in Murphy, North Carolina.
Cancel fourteen or more days before the scheduled check-in date.
Cancel seven through thirteen days before the scheduled check-in date.
Cancellations made less than seven days before check-in are nonrefundable.
Simple Check-Out Checklist
We keep departure requirements intentionally simple.
- Load and start the dishwasher.
- No need to strip the beds — we've got this.
- Place used towels in the shower or bathtub.
- Remove leftover food and drinks.
- Take trash to the bins located behind the cabin.
- Make sure the fireplace, baseboard heating, and fans are turned off.
- Turn off lights and check for personal belongings.
- Lock the doors when leaving.
